How to get the most from your website

There are a few basic yet often overlooked ways to get the most from your business website.

Here are a few:

1:  Give visitors opportunities for interaction.

Include contact info on each web page
The basics would include email address link, telephone number and mailing address.  Show links to your business Facebook, LinkedIn and professional Twitter account.

2:  Give more relevant content value.

Provide "tips of the day" or similar items items that change daily and are relevant to your audience.
Have contests or special drawings and announce the winners on your website.

3:  Get sponsors to pay to be on your website.

It's very easy to either have complementary businesses pay or barter to have a banner on your website.

4:  Make your website able to take payments online from customers.

There are several reputable online services to collect payments from your customers.  Accepting credit and debit cards can help you increase your cash flow by allowing you to collect payment immediately.  Options include Google, Paypal, and bank credit card services.

5:  Make your online and offline marketing work together:

Work with complementary businesses to display your products, brochures, etc.  Be sure to include your email address and web address on all of your business stationery.
